Cuisinart Rice Plus Multi-Cooker Giveaway

Would you like to win this beautiful Rice Plus™ Multi-Cooker with Fuzzy Logic Technology as much as I would?  I've never owned a good rice maker but I have also never been able to justify spending the money on something that I only would use once or twice a month.  This multi-cooker can make so much more than just rice!  It can make oatmeal, risotto, soup and lots more.

Head over to Mom's Focus on Cyber World because she is giving one away to a lucky reader! This giveaway ends on March 22nd.  Good luck!

SodaStream! - Review

I was fortunate enough to win a SodaStream Home Soda Maker through a December giveaway at Frugalicious Mommy.  I was so excited to receive this soda maker because I love soda!  When the box arrived, I couldn't wait to pull it out and start making soda.  Not only was I sent the home soda machine, I was also sent 2 bottles of my choice of flavors (I chose Diet Pete's Choice and Diet Cream Soda), 1 bottle of Diet Ginger Ale (this was a surprise!), a box of samples which included both sugared and diet flavors and a small box of flavors for sparkling water.

I was surprised at the compact size of the machine itself.  It easily fits on the counter top without taking up much room.  There are no cords to get tangled up.  The machine runs by using a carbonator which can be refilled by SodaStream USA.  There are two sizes of carbonator, one makes 60 liters of soda and one makes 110 liters.  Every machine comes with a carbonator, mine came with a 60L.  I think I've made maybe 10L of soda so I've got plenty to go!

The first thing you have to do is fill the special SodaStream bottle to the fill line.  You can use tap water if you want to, but I don't like the flavor of my tap water so I used filtered water from the fridge.  Whatever you do, don't overfill!  This may cause a disaster.

Then you screw it onto the machine and get ready to make soda!  On the top of the machine is a button that you push to create the carbonation.  You keep pressing it all the way down until the machine makes a buzzing sounds.  Make that sound three times and you are done!  Just add the syrup and you've got soda at home!

Tada!  It tastes great and there is no high fructose corn syrup, which I am thrilled about!  It's so nice to have soda whenever I want it.  The carbonation is not like regular soda, either.  It doesn't overflow in the glass and the foam at the top dissipates quickly.

This is a great gift for family and friends who love soda but doesn't want to pay the outrageous prices that soda costs in the store.

I was not compensated by anyone for this review.  I won this item in a blog giveaway.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  I was so lucky to have dinner cooked by my DH, FIL and BIL.  They each made a different dish; DH made Chicken Cordon Bleu, BIL made orzo pasta with asparagus tips and mushrooms and FIL made a chocolate cake from scratch.  It was a delicious dinner!  MIL, SIL & myself were spoiled; they served us!  We even took a few pictures to remember the day:

I couldn't have asked for a better DH and in-laws.  This just goes to show that chivalry is not dead, at least not at my house!  Hope everyone had as special a day as I did.

Enstrom's Almond Toffee - Review

Last week I was thrilled to learn that I won a giveaway on Emmy's Boos and Rawrs for a box of Enstrom's Almond Toffee.  This was a giveaway that I was really hoping to win because I have always had a love for good toffee.  In fact, Skor bars are one of my favorite candy bars.  I was sent a 1 lbs. box of the Milk Chocolate Almond Toffee which arrived not too long after I learned of my good fortune!

Upon opening the outer packaging this is what I saw:

This picture really doesn't do any justice to the beauty of the packaging.  The sleeve was a deep brown color and the white box was a pearlescent white with a raised texture, almost like linen.  Very luxurious!

When I took the lid off, I was treated to a buttery, chocolaty aroma and this image:

Isn't it beautiful?  The layer of chopped nuts was the first thing I noticed.  The almonds were pretty fine with a few larger pieces just so you knew they were almonds.  Below the almonds was a layer of creamy milk chocolate and then you hit the toffee.  Oh, the toffee!  It was buttery and sweet and nutty and literally melted in your mouth!  The flavors of the almonds, chocolate and toffee went so well together.  My whole family thought it was the best toffee they had ever tasted and I agree completely.

Although I really didn't want to know the nutritional information of the product, it was clearly labeled on the back of the sleeve with all of the ingredients listed.  Nothing but all natural products in this stuff and I appreciate that. I would definitely order this for a friend or relative in a pinch.  It is a product that I would be proud to send as a gift!  They also sell other items besides toffee such as caramels, mini turtles, mint meltaways and sugar free toffee.

Thanks to Emmy for hosting the giveaway and thanks to Enstrom's for sharing their products!

Disclaimer:  I was not compensated for this review.  I won the product in an free online giveaway.  These are my personal, honest opinions of the product.

The cutest baby clothes ever?

FuzziBunz Cloth Diapers!

My mom used cloth diapers on me and my siblings and speaks so highly of them that I plan on cloth diapering my kids.  Not only are they better for your baby's sensitive bottom, they are so much better for the environment.  There are lots of cloth diaper giveaways going around the blog network but one in particular sticks out for me.  FuzziBunz has always come highly recommended by moms and I would love to own one!  Over at Monkey Tales, Baby Blessings Natural Products is sponsoring a giveaway of a FuzziBunz One Size diaper in any color!  The giveaway ends on March 10th!

Trim & Terrific Freezer Friendly Meals

I love to cook!  It's difficult for me to cook as much as I want during the week because I work two jobs, one of which is my own business.  I don't usually get home until after 6 pm so to start cooking a meal at that time isn't feasible for my family.  In the past, I have gone to businesses where you prepare your meals in advance and then freeze those meals.  When you are ready to cook them, you just thaw and follow the directions!  I love this idea because my least favorite part of cooking is all the prep work that has to be done (especially chopping onions!).

Luckily, I found a giveaway over at http://www.whatscookingatdd.com/review/freezer-friendly-meals/ for a cookbook titled "Trim & Terrific Freezer Friendly Meals" by Holly Clegg.  This is the exact same thing except I can prepare everything in my own home!  Holly also has a great blog right here with recipes that you can try.  This contest ends on Feb. 16th.
